Currently there is a delete button available in the "Receive coins" tab/toolbar thing implying that it is a possible action in some context on this pane, when it is not.

Agreed, we can just as well hide it completely.
Eventually we will add the option to delete (well, hide, they should never be really deleted) receiving addresses from the list. But for now it is only confusing.
