The process is a renamed bitcoin-qt binary, version v0.6.1-243; compiled on ubuntu, pulled from changeset gd6615a5:

I realize that without a dump there is probably not too much that could be done, and I am reluctant to publish that for security reasons. Also, this is not an official build, so again, there is probably not too much that could be done.

So if you are to close the ticket without response, I understand.

I understand that you don't want to publish a "core dump", but you can certainly provide more information. The current information doesn't help as it doesn't contain symbols / line numbers:

    • Does it happen on any specific actions? At startup/shutdown? Or randomly?
    • Anything in the debug.log when it happens?
    • Can you run the executable in gdb (or another debugger) and create a stack traceback when it crashes? (with "bt")
    • Can you try with earlier/later versions (at least the latest master), when did it start to happen?

    Thanks Wladimir!

    I certainly can.

    • It happens randomly. I run application that keeps scanning for transactions using xmlrpc
    • Here is debug.log: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BxBlvkNJOOeXRXFDN0tPU0V3ejA . I cannot pinpoint anything specific
    • I am not sure how to do this on windows. Is there any way I could load symbols into visual studio? Or, is there is another debugger I could use on windows
    • I would be happy to use a different version, but they are all affected by the same flaw, that will not allow me rename the labels correctly (https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/1231). So I have to keep patching the source code myself and recompiling it

    Is this still a problem?

I would vote for closing this as we are now at 0.8.2.
