Mind that normal users don't have a clue what "Qt" is. If you want to give it a name, it's the "Satoshi" client.

Well I have the impression Bitcoin-Qt is a widely accepted name: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bitcoin-Qt

We then should define how we want a CLIENT_NAME_QT to be and how we use this one definition all over the Qt version, right?

Edit: This should be used in the Window title, about and so on... currently we have no real standard there.

It's a well-accepted name in developer circles, and it's fine for things such as executable names and internal identifiers. But I'm doubtful about putting it in the interface.

I vote for keeping the title as it is, we're the reference client so we don't have to change the title to distinguish ourselves :-)

When people are asked what version they are using they should check Help->About.

Perhaps it's easier to keep it, but it's inconsequent and we are more than a wallet IMHO. We have Help->About Bitcoin-Qt and the popping up dialogs title is About Bitcoin. I would love to see some better strings for all of this in our reference client. But no ACK or suggestions means it stays the way it is ^^.

Oh and the string Satoshi is only mentioned in the Debug window Qt-wise ;).

@laanwj I have thought about it a little more and I have some suggestions:

1. Rename Window title to Bitcoin-Qt - Wallet -> Bitcoin-Qt is the GUI to Bitcoin and this keeps Wallet but separated by "-" to ensure users don't think the client is called "Bitcoin Wallet".
2. Rename About Bitcoin-Qt -> About Bitcoin -> We show version stuff that is not the Qt client version, but the Bitcoin "core" version.
3. Rename Client in the Debug window -> Core, Bitcoin Core or Core Client -> This is clearer in terms of we use the Core and have the Qt GUI on top.

Oh and for not knowing Qt, we have an About Qt in the GUI :).

What do you think?

Yes, good proposal, except for the Qt in the title.

Qt in the about box/menu is fine, people will look there to find detailed version information.

Also note that in the future we'll have the possibility of multiple wallet windows open, as multi-wallet support is introduced. So it's good to keep the title short.
