This needs to be retranslated and an update for bitcoinstrings.cpp (which I do from time to time, just wanted to mention) and I remember that the "block" in front of database was added, because we have a similar message for the wallet db :).

@diapolo Sorry, it's probably because we're mostly used to responding to comments we don't agree with
I agree that this will have to be retranslated (though with 0.8 final being out of the door there's a lot of time for that).
And for wallet/block database, yeah, I'd say leave out "database" for the wallet and make the message "Verifying wallet".
