What are your specs (CPU, memory, number of processing units available, backing storage (SSD/HDD/SD/Network-attached storage) and its connection type (USB/PCIe), operating system, Core version, command line options, internet connection speed, etc)? Are you using a node-in-a-box solution (Umbrel, RaspiBlitz, Start9, NODL, etc.)? Is Tor enabled? What’s your dbcache setting? Are any other services running simultaneously (Electrs, Fulcrum, Lightning indexing)? If possible, could you share your
debug.logfile (or relevant portions) - just check it first for any private information like IP addresses you’d prefer not to share. -
pcliff069 commented at 2:33 pm on January 18, 2026: noneIt’s a Start9 OS on a BMAX dedicated mini computer. I have never done one of these before and am unsure of the information you are after. Bitcoin Core has service logs - but I have no idea where they are stored when I dowbload them. It’s a 2TB SSD, my internet is 1TB down. There are TOR logs so I guess Tor is enabled. Every time I check progress it seems to be Synced Timed out. REtrying soon. I moved from a 1TB SSD system because afrer spent over a month syncing it I got nothing - Electrs just failed to load. DBcache 5000 Batch 33554432 - not touched by me. I’ll try and load whatever logs I can from my main machine tomorrow.. And thanks for the response.

l0rinc commented at 2:42 pm on January 18, 2026: contributorI have pinged Matt from Start9, maybe he can help you get the details for us, otherwise this is too vague. It would help if you could paste the relevant parts of the
debug.logfor us here. -

Slowness could also be a software problem, and in this case, it seems not unlikely if Start9 uses TOR by default. It would be best to investigate the fork of startos https://github.com/Start9Labs/start-os since this seems like a custom configuration of OS and software, including Bitcoin.
