A failure of the automake tests provides very little detail:

make[2]: Entering directory `/mnt/bitcoin/linux-build/src'
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'boost::thread_interrupted'
Running 125 test cases...
/bin/bash: line 5: 30395 Aborted                 ${dir}$tst
FAIL: test/test_bitcoin

The automake test suite provides *.trs and *.log output for each test listed in TESTS. This output should be made available.
