I'm not entirely sure about whether we should recommend make install though. Is this normal in build documentation? Maybe add that it's optional, like the OSX docs.

Automatic sanity-testing: PASSED, see http://jenkins.bluematt.me/pull-tester/p5020_fa08f9b9e365559e677f62adb31cb2c51c4873df/ for binaries and test log. This test script verifies pulls every time they are updated. It, however, dies sometimes and fails to test properly.
