I like to have Bitcoin start when my computer starts up, so it can just sit in the background and relay transactions whenever my computer is on.

For this purpose the “Start minimized”-option is really useful, but it doesn’t work for me. With the option passed on the command-line, first the splash screen appears and then the normal window. Just as when the option is left out.

I’m using version 0.5.0.1-beta of Bitcoin and running Ubuntu Natty (11.04). I’m using Qt version 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 from the standard repositories in Ubuntu Natty. Compiz (0.9.4) is my window manager and I’m running GNOME (2.32.1).

Indeed, I think this option is currently ignored (didn’t even know that it exists)

Edit: Grepping the source, it seems that it never even parsed. It is mentioned in the help message:

    0 -min \t\t " + _("Start minimized\n") +

I’ve implemented this; see pull request #679 Can you test?
