If I'm reading this (https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/assets-attribution.txt) correctly, you are including some GPL icons in the Bitcoin. This would make the whole program GPL. (http://stackoverflow.com/a/47994/613130) unless there are special licensing (unless you have special permissions from the author, but then you should write it).

http://static.inky.ws/image/3011/image.jpg (the image is a gif, not a jpg, but the site changes the extension of the files). Generated through http://ajaxload.info/ (license: from the same site, last line of the page, "Generated gifs are totally free for use"). If necessary I can convert the gif to a mng.

I like the image.

I think converting it to mng and replacing the current spinner.mng is the quickest way to get it integrated. In my experiments back in the day qt had some problems with animated gifs.
Changed the spinner to a non-GPL one, added instructions on how to regenerate it, changed the assets attribution, removed old spinner + old spinner's sources. 33fd980bf9

I can't compile the QT, so can anyone test the mng? Thanks! Ah... was forgetting... changed the spinner to one from http://preloaders.net/en/circular
