Update: I dropped the "version" field from the proposal and reference implementation.
My initial goal was to have getblocktemplate completely specify the coinbase fields a mining pool needs, but I'm leaving that up for grabs for a fresh BIP. That's because BIP145 doesn't specify fields for the coinbase witness and for the SegWit commitment, and adding those would expand the scope too much.
