Let us know which version you tested on which operating system.

If you find an issue, please search Github for known issues first and then open a new Github issue. This meta issue should not be used to report bugs, as a single thread makes it impossible to track more than one topic.

See Release Notes for a list of changes, and testing reports for earlier releases (v0.18.0), for an idea what to test.

I'd like to repeat my point that this meta issue should not be used to report bugs, as a single thread makes it impossible to track more than one topic.

I think the OP should mention that

@marcofalke clarified that a bit more

I've tested rc1 (for now, the tag, not the release binaries, will check those too)

    • on ARM32 debian 10 (non-pruned)
    • on x86_64 Ubuntu 18.04 (in pruned mode), as backend for joinmarket
    • on x86_64 FreeBSD (non-pruned), as backend for c-lightning

    binaries:

    • tested RISC-V binaries on SiFive Unleashed w/ up to date Fedora, bitcoind and bitcoin-cli work, synced the last part of the chain succesfully

I've tested rc1 release binaries by running export LC_ALL=C.UTF-8; bin/test_bitcoin

Edit: After @fanquake 's hint I am adding this export LC_ALL according to #14948

    • on i686 Ubuntu 19.04 (with multilib, the same system as x86_64 below) no errors detected
    • on x86_64 Ubuntu 19.04 no errors detected
    • on ARM32 Ubuntu 19.04 no errors detected, also a pruned node (mainnet and testnet)
    • on ARM32 Debian 10 no errors detected
    • on ARM64 Debian bullseye/sid no errors detected

I'm also patiently running an IBD on an ARM32 device to get bonus points in #17002. I switched that instance to rc1 and it's still happily chipping away at blocks (497500 and counting...).

What are review points? Also what does checkpoints = 0 do?

@Relaxo143 please ask in #17002; it's not relevant here.

    Tested tagged rc3 built from source on Debian 4.19.37-5+deb10u2 (2019-08-08) x86_64 GNU/Linux.

Ran bitcoind for a day with no issues, normal log, ran various CLI commands. Ran it also with c-lightning v0.7.2.1-414-g68222dd and tested various lightning CLI commands. Blocks synced.

~/projects/bitcoin/bitcoin/src ((HEAD detached at v0.19.0rc3))$ bitcoind
2019-10-29T09:46:33Z Bitcoin Core version v0.19.0rc3 (debug build)

Ran the GUI, various console commands, and menus. Created wallets and loaded various wallets, created addresses and transactions.
