    <!-- Describe the issue -->

Expected behavior In the past, I was able to create a new receiving address with the button on the receiving tag.

<!--- What behavior did you expect? -->

Actual behavior Since I don't know when the button is grayed out. (I didn't receive Bitcoins for some years now.) Regardless of the Label, Message, or Checkbox values. When I create a new Wallet I can create new addresses.

<!--- What was the actual behavior (provide screenshots if the issue is GUI-related)? -->

    To reproduce

<!--- How reliably can you reproduce the issue, what are the steps to do so? -->

I'm not able to reproduce this behavior with another Wallet.

    System information

<!-- What version of Bitcoin Core are you using, where did you get it (website, self-compiled, etc)? -->

I was on version 0.18. So I upgraded to version 0.21. No change.

<!-- What type of machine are you observing the error on (OS/CPU and disk type)? -->

<!-- GUI-related issue? What is your operating system and its version? If Linux, what is your desktop environment and graphical shell? -->

The System is a PC with Windows 10 with an HDD for DB Storage.

<!-- Any extra information that might be useful in the debugging process. -->

I attached the debug.log shortened to on start and stop of the application.

<!--- This is normally the contents of a `debug.log` or `config.log` file. Raw text or a link to a pastebin type site are preferred. -->

Closing and reopening the wallet didn't change the behavior. The console command "getnewaddress" returns the Error: This wallet has no available keys (code -4) so I tried "keypoolrefill" no change so far.

  5. Oberreiter commented at 1:22 PM on February 11, 2021: none

If I try "keypoolrefill 100" I get "Error refreshing keypool (code -4)"

I'm trying to do a rescan and see if it solves the problem. https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.15.0#rescanning-with-encrypted-wallets

The rebuild didn't change the "bug".

What is the result of the getwalletinfo command?

Try using the upgradewallet command. This seems to be a similar situation to #20871 where your wallet version indicates it should support HD, but there is no HD seed so it doesn't actually.

Hi... I have Bitcoin Core Version v0.21.0 installed and face this problem also with Bitcoin Knots. Any hint to resolve the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hebasto, wow - thanx for that swift response. upgradewallet tells me: "already at latest version. Wallet version unchanged." tried v0.21.0rc5 - problem does still exist.

v0.20.1 works... what would you recommend me to do now?
