    Running Xubuntu 12.10 and current stable bitcoin from ppa:bincoin/bitcoin

    First time I open the menu is "caged" but to big. Once I hover it it starts to overlay the items surrounding it it overlays the entire menu. Like this:

    I tryed to use the other Icon that comes with bitcoin, /usr/share/pixmaps/bitcoin32.xpm that is smaller but still to big for the XFCE menu. I guess they are supposed to resize, but even if, the /usr/share/pixmaps/bitcoin80.xpm should not used by default for XFCE then.

    Other icons in the pixmaps folder are 32x32 and are displayed correctly not sure why the Bitcoin icon not resizes.

    @jonasschnelli Can you take a look, if this is graphics related perhaps?

    @nextgenthemes i do not have XFCE experience. How do i add bitcoin to the app menu? How did you install bitcoin (assume apt-get)?

    I confirm nextgenthemes's observations. I'm running Xfce 4.10 under Xubuntu Raring 13.04 (amd64).

    @jonasschnelli as I said right at the first line of this issue.

    Running Xubuntu 12.10 and current stable bitcoin from ppa:bincoin/bitcoin

    so yes with apt-get install. It adds itself to the menu so I did nothing manually.

    This has to be something about the .xpm file and how they are created. I have no idea about this format but I try to look into this when I have time. Pretty busy atm. Maybe someone else is faster or has already knowledge about this format.

    @nextgenthemes sorry for overlooking your first line. Okay. I try to reproduce it with Xubuntu 12.10.

    fix before a new .deb release:

    • curl https://raw.github.com/jonasschnelli/bitcoin/new_xpm_icons/share/pixmaps/bitcoin128.png > /usr/share/pixmaps/bitcoin128.png
    • open "Settings Manager"->"Main Menu"->"Office"
    • open "Bitcoin" Properties
    • click on "Icon" and select the new bitcoin128.png file.
