Maybe we should also mention that installing git is no longer required because git comes with Xcode 5 and higher which is obviously required to build bitcoin.

We can probably pull out the bit about installing git. Or maybe just note that it will be installed with Xcode.

Yes. Agreed with removing the git section (or mention something like "git is required and will be installed with a recent version of Xcode").
