I’ve tried with version 0.12.1 and 0.12.0 cannot finish sync. It keeps getting stuck with about 2.5 to 1.5 years to go. This is using the Windows 64bit binaries. I’ve verified upnp is working and I can be connected to externally. I’ve attempted to eject slow peers and the entire list to get new ones. I’ve also deleted my peers.dat to get it regenerated. I’ve reindexed. The debug log file doesn’t report anything negative and generally only includes notifications of peers connecting. I have peers that provide the services NETWORK and BLOOM. Is there anything else I can try?

Can you post the output from RPCs getchaintips and getpeerinfo? You can use bitcoin-cli if you’re running bitcoind or bitcoin-qt in server mode, or the debug console in bitcoin-qt.

Can you start with -debug=net and check in the lock if you have better information about the messages received ?

Your node does not even ask for new blocks, interesting. But it seems to know about the biggest chain still. Will check out.

@rebroad 0.12.1 is currently the latest stable version. Also running an “old” version shouldn’t cause any problems. I think you can get 0.8 and still sync by just letting it run long enough.

I’m having the same symptoms with v0.12.1-g9779e1e1 on linux (4.4.6-gentoo).

Special installation - the blocks dir is symlinked to a NFS drive (accessed by only a single computer).

Edit: I reverted to v0.11.2-g7e278929 (on the same computer) and after re-indexing, I am able to synchronize with the chain again.

I just had this issue on 0.12.1. Upgrading to 0.13 did not change anything. I fixed it with reconsiderblock "0000000000000000011c672f3731a6ba1a390331fb154d470eaf76419801d384". I also needed to restart the software after executing that statement. By itself it only synced one more block. Might be a bug.

i want to install the 32 bit or classic but then after verifying block it will say internal error see debug.log i don’t know what to do. please fix. at first it went through until syncing process but then it shut down now that’s the error.
