Also now seeing: xcrun: error: unable to find utility "c", not a developer tool or in PATH when doing depends builds with macOS 10.13.5, Xcode 9.4.1 and CommandLine Tools 10.0. This was caused by local depends changes...

I'm getting a lot of these when I use depends:

ld: warning: direct access in function 'QTreeWidget::qt_static_metacall(QObject*, QMetaObject::Call, int, void**)' from file '/Volumes/SSD/src/bitcoin/depends/x86_64-apple-darwin17.7.0/lib/libQt5Widgets.a(qtreewidget.o)' to global weak symbol 'QMetaTypeId<QItemSelection>::qt_metatype_id()::metatype_id' from file 'qt/libbitcoinqt.a(libbitcoinqt_a-moc_receivecoinsdialog.o)' means the weak symbol cannot be overridden at runtime. This was likely caused by different translation units being compiled with different visibility settings.

How do you get the command line tools version?

I am seeing this too (macOS 10.13.6, XCode 10.0 10A255).

I tried following this and it didn't work (why would it, after all installing the new command line tools just brought this about in the first place).

I'm wondering if one was to re-create these tbd files from the associated dylib file which it is a stub of, if the warnings go away (see https://github.com/Siguza/tbdump). Anyways I do not think it's anything that can be solved in the build system. I also wonder if this happens on a freshly installed mac (my guess is: probably not).

Seeing as the .tbd is out of sync with its own Framework, unless there's some voodoo going on behind the scenes, this looks like a bug in Apple's frameworks to me.

Do the resulting binaries behave as expected?

@theuni From what I've seen they do. If there's anything in particular you'd like tested let me know.

I'm getting these errors now on macOS 10.14.1 even without using depends. It's pretty annoying (because useful warnings get snowed under).

Deleting and reinstalling Xcode tools doesn't help.

Apple forum says:

You have to link directly to the library and not rely on -isysroot or -frameworks in your makefile. you need to link like -L /path/to/lib libstuff.dylib

I'm no longer seeing these warnings.
